20 year old male. I just got a job as a commercial metal building erector. The boss said he’ll start me off at $13 an hour. Condition could be worse but they aren’t terrible. All my work comes from the northern Utah/Idaho region. Ground might be frozen in the morning and then thawed out by lunch. I love my job but why the such little pay?? I dropped out of college because I’d rather do a skilled trade job instead of sitting at a desk. Also I moved out because my mom said I won’t amount to anything if I don’t go to college. Just wondering if this is the right decision.... Before this job I was doing house siding and gutter installations for $10 an hour. What do I need to do to make more money?
