First 50 customers sign-up to order cement by smartphone

Fifty UK construction companies have already registered to use the new CEMEX digital platform which allows you to order materials by smartphone.

CEMEX Go uses the latest digital-industrial technology available through desktops and mobile devices to allow customers to place orders, track shipments, manage invoices and make payments for building products including bagged and bulk cement, readymixed concrete and aggregates.

Customers can access their account at any time and the information is delivered in real-time like an Ocado style service for construction.

One of the first to sign up was Technic Concrete Floors.

The company constructs concrete floors using traditional mesh reinforcement, steel and polyfibres and has worked closely with CEMEX UK, using their readymixed concrete.

Darren  Murgatroyd, Director said: “The introduction of CEMEX Go will undoubtedly bring massive benefits to our business.

“We will be able to track the deliveries and look at efficiency levels/wastage, which in turn will support our environmental strategies and improved invoicing process. We are looking forward to working with CEMEX on this new digital platform.”
